32 talented art students ventured out to Manchester Museum to partake in the Art of identity project. They began by exploring the museum to photograph an animal that could act as a mascot for the school as it encapsulated the values of the school. A chameleon was chosen to show the adaptability of our students with its bright colours, emphasising the cultural diversity of the school and its standout nature.
Self-identity was explored as they drew their own characters that incorporated what was special about themselves.
The final task involved them working in teams to create one marionette produced from clay that served to represent The Derby High School’s values. Future visits to school will ensure the marionette is decorated.
